Past lives, ghostly presences, Victorian ladies drift slowly in and out of the stately rooms of Dyffryn House.

As they read, embroider and take tea these eerie ladies perform atmospheric and evocative vignettes using movement and words.

Working from photographs and text from Charlotte Bronte and Edith Wharton, older performers from Striking Attitudes Dance Theatre recreate the leisurely pastimes of those who would have once inhabited these magnificent rooms.

This performance was part of the Gwanwyn Festival, a month-long festival held across Wales every May to celebrate creativity in older age. Gwanwyn Festival is supported by the Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh Government.

It was a hit with our visitors and really added to the atmosphere. A fantastic day.‘ – Jen Park, Visitor Experience Assistant at Dyffryn House.
